Fishersville UMC has a vibrant and active children’s ministry that culminates into a variety of programs, classes, special events and more for kids all of ages, from newborns to seniors in High School! FUMC has established and partnered with the UMC’s Safe Sanctuaries policy that is designed to protect the children of our congregation from abuse of any kind. All staff and volunteers undergo training and a background check before they serve in any Kids or Youth ministry activities. FUMC’s children ministries offer events and gatherings that give local families a safe and fun way to celebrate any season of life, whether it be through annual offerings like Trunk or Treat and the Easter Egg Hunt or Paint Nights and more!

Youth Group
Sundays, 4pm @ Youth Room
Our FUMC Youth group is a vibrant and diverse group of teens and young adults with students from grades 6-12 that make up an informal gathering that is full of fun, fellowship, and Jesus!
Our Sunday weekly gathering includes time for students to spend in community and discussion with their peers. It is a time of fun and an opportunity to build relationships.
Nursery
Our Nursery takes pride in ministering to our youngest children. Care is available for children aged from newborn through 5 years old. We provide a safe, loving environment where families can feel confident leaving their little ones while the parents enjoy worship on their own.
On Sunday morning, Nursery care is available for our 8:30am Traditional Service, Sunday School, and our 11:00am Blended Service. Nursery care is also available on many holiday services such as Christmas Eve and “Bow the Knee” during Easter.

Children’s Sunday School
On Sunday mornings, along with our adult-oriented worship services and Sunday School, we also provide a Children’s Sunday School!
Beginning at 9:40, Children’s Sunday School class is available in the Children’s wing downstairs, in what many church members refer to as the “Old Building,” because the foundation is the same as the original building, and on Zoom for those children that cannot make it in-person. The in-person Sunday School class happens in Room 109.

Both the in-person and the Zoom versions of the Children’s Sunday School class are led by Wendi Olli. Kids Worship
During our 11:00am Blended Worship Service, children are dismissed from the Sanctuary just after the Praise and Worship time to a service just for them. Children will have a lesson, sing songs, and create fun art projects that all point them to the truth that they are loved by God! Kids Worship happens in Room 109 downstairs and any kids joining us for this time can be picked up from that room promptly after the 11:00am service is done.
