Mexico Mission Trip

Fishersville United Methodist Church has supported Casa Hogar, the children’s home orphanage in central Mexico since 2002. Every year, our church families visit there and enjoy plenty of projects and fun to go around. Experience is NOT required. We go by and with the grace of God and that is all we need. This year will be another year for projects (fixing / painting / cleaning / building). We are blessed. Our gifts are being multiplied by our Father. Consider joining our Mission Trip for a trip this December.

Mexico Shoes Project

Our Mexico Missions include bought two pairs of shoes, socks, and underwear to each of the children of Casa Hogar this year. The children cannot attend school if they do not each have two pairs. If possible, when outgrown, the shoes are handed down. We appreciate all the support from our church family and praise the Lord all His blessings.

We had a fantastic week in Mexico at Casa Hogar. Despite several travel delays and cancellations, God’s goodness still prevails. Our projects for the house this year included extending the fence outside and replacing and painting closet doors in three different rooms. We were blessed to spend lots of time with the children and volunteers building relationships and sharing God’s love with one another! At the end of the week, we took a trip with everyone to Puebla, where we took the children to lunch, a movie, and to play at an arcade. The joy shared between everyone this week was abundant, as we saw God’s love in action in each moment.

FAQ

Casa Hogar translates literally to “House Home.” There are many hundreds of Casa Hogars spread across Mexico and they are each independent, but they are all working toward the same goal, to provide care and shelter for children in need.

In 2002, our initial teams was saints such as Mary Altizer, Judy Hostetter, and Donna Kluefer.

Traditionally, a mission would entail a person of the Christian faith moving to another part of the world to spread their faith through good deeds. Missions would go on for many years at a time and missionaries, those who went on a mission, would take their families with them.

The estimated total cost per person depends upon ticket prices. If cost is the only hindrance, there may be some individuals that would help with the cost.

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.."
