Thus you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, And that I am the Lord your God, And there is no other; And My people will never be put to shame. Joel 2:27

The 3:59 Club: A Prayer and Study Group for Lent that will recenter our hearts on Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross as we head into the Easter season will be hosted by FUMC, but led by Rev. Linda Kusse-Wolfe. This will be starting March 16th in-person at both 11am and 7pm, to best meet the schedules of the most amount of people.

John the Baptist was standing with two of his disciples when Jesus walked by. “Behold the Lamb of God!” he said with joy. Immediately two of his disciples turned and began to follow Jesus. John’s Gospel says that it was about 4 o’clock in the afternoon.  I’ve often wondered what happened inside each of these people at 3:59 pm! What had prepared them to turn from John and follow Jesus right then? We can think of Lent as our own “3:59 Club”, a time to get ourselves prepared, attentive and ready to say “yes, Lord, we will!”  (John 1:35-39)

March 16: Holy Reading

March 23: Fasting or Adding a Spiritual Practice

March 30: Service

April 6: Silence

April 23: Generosity

We will begin each week by reflecting on Jesus’ responses to the new disciples wandering after him: (1) What are you looking for? (What longing has God put in your heart?) (2) Come and see (Where have you seen and experienced Jesus since we were last together?)

If you are interested in joining us, please do not hesitate to reach out the Church Office today and we’ll be happy to sign you up!
