Thus you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, And that I am the Lord your God, And there is no other; And My people will never be put to shame. Joel 2:27

Have you ever been out enjoying a wonderful meal or shopping just for the fun of it and thought about our neighbors in need?  Sometimes there are visible reminders- the homeless man in the median, the child who should be wearing a coat but stands shivering, the news article about unpaid school lunch tabs.

The Missions Committee sponsors the 10% Giving Jars to offer an opportunity to make tangible gifts each time we enjoy a treat- be it dinner, a movie or a new sweater.  Jars are available for pick up in the narthex or by contacting Rhonda Ford rhondaford28@yahoo.com or any other Missions Committee member.  Participants are encouraged to set aside up to 10% of what they spend on treats to go into their jar.   There are be ongoing opportunities to return jars to church to be blessed and the proceeds will be used to help others in our community and through our denomination.  Some of those missions include (but are not limited to) WARM, Suicide Prevention Awareness, Child Development Center, Camp Overlook Scholarships, Bates Foundation, The Secret Boutique, Casa de Amistad, Hogar La Familia, Shoebox Ministries, and sponsoring Christmas families.

If your jar is full, return it and get another one!  We will continue to recycle and create new jars as needed.

If you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Luke 6:38
